The Socialist Party Women's Commission Platform 2000
PREAMBLE
The Socialist Party recognizes that a struggle against male chauvinism and patriarchy go hand in hand with any struggle against capitalism. Therefore, we pledge our opposition to all forms of sexism, and demand equality for women in all aspects of life.
WORKERS' AND STUDENTS' RIGHTS
* equal pay for equal work
* equal access to education and job training, and equal opportunities for education and work advancement.
* the right of workers and students to organize
* a minimum wage of per hour with a maximum annual income not exceeding ten times the minimum
* a full employment policy and programs, and the provision of a guaranteed annual income for those outside the workforce.
HEALTH CARE AND REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
* the establishment of a universal health care system, with full coverage for mental as well as physical illnesses or disabilities
* the right of all women to birth control information and supplies and to all health services including abortion
